Once you complete the steps, the apps should detect the webcam using the older version of the driver, allowing you to continue to participate in video calls. Turn on the Allow desktop apps to access the camera toggle switch at the bottom of the page. Can automatically configure most cameras, it does not mean they will continue operating with issues indefinitely.
Is there any way to change the default camera? I have two, and always want the BRIO to be the default, but Windows seems to think that’s my secondary camera. Most apps make it pretty easy to switch between cameras, but not all, and some updates seem to reset this for some apps, so I start a call, and it’s using the wrong camera. I have to scramble to find the setting to change camera while I’m on a video call — frustrating.

Click ‘Search for updates drivers on Windows Update’ and update the drivers. Check whether Allow this device access to your camera is enabled. Installed other drivers, gave access in Control Panels and in my Anti Virus to certain programs so they could use the camera. The camera indicator light went on but the camera did not work. Your driver will install automatically, and the webcam problem should go away. Choose “Uninstall device” and reboot your laptop.
Click the Start menu with the right mouse button, press Win + X, or directly search it from the Windows search bar. When you go back to Device Manager, you need to click Action on the top menu and then select Scan for hardware changes. Check the status of Allow access to the camera on this device. If it is off, you need to click the Change button and turn on the button for it. Usually, the camera on your computer can only be used by one application once. If you want to use it on a second app, it will not work of course.
Check your video preview and click the VideoMirror icon at the top-right of your chrome browser to flip as desired. This extension helps flip your video horizontally. Thus, you can Webcam Test change from a right orientation to a left one, depending on your preference. Now, close Settings and open a messaging app to type in some emojis. After selecting any emoji you like, press and hold the emoji with your finger.
